What am I Buying?
Each Social Pixel is an NFT(ERC-721 compliant), or non-fungible token*.
Buying a pixel grants you perpetual ownership over the pixel you purchased. The data connecting you to your pixel is immutable and stored on the blockchain, so it’s forever tied to you (unless you sell it, of course).
All of the Social Pixel NFTs contain data regarding their adjacent pixels as well, so your pixel is always connected to the Social Pixel community on the blockchain.
*An NFT is a unit of data stored on a digital ledger (the Ethereum blockchain) that links owners to their assets; in this case, a specific Social Pixel on the grid. Unlike cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin (also units of data stored on a digital ledger), one NFT cannot be directly replaced by another NFT, since each NFT is unique and distinguishable from any other token.
Why Buy a Pixel?
Social Pixels are in perpetual interaction with one other on the canvas and allow communities to create truly unique mosaics. Since no mosaic is the same, and is completely directed by its community of owners, each pixel is part of a completely one-of-a-kind canvas, and has the ability to constantly influence how the artwork looks.
Social Pixel is a multi-phase project that aims to grow and evolve with its community by periodically introducing new canvases. Subsequent canvases will include new features and types of communal interaction, and grow in scale as the Social Pixel community grows. Collectors, rest assured: no canvas will ever be the same as any other canvas, and no extra pixels will ever be added to any existing canvas.
Each pixel will entitle an owner to a free pixel on a subsequent canvas (cut-off times will be announced before the launch of the next canvas). Theoretically, if you buy a Social Pixel on the first canvas and hold on to it until each cut-off time, you will get a pixel in every subsequent canvas, FOREVER.

Once a buyer buys your pixel, the funds will be automatically transferred to your wallet, and the ownership of the pixel will be transferred to the new owner
